湛江市外商投资企业协会于1994年7月28日成立，是经湛江市民政局注册登记的社会团体，是广东外商投资企业协会的分支机构，协会在湛江市对外贸易经济合作局的直接领导下开展活动 。
协会的宗旨是遵照国家对外开放、鼓励外商投资的法律、法规和方针、政策，努力为会员和投资者服务，维护会员的合法权益；增强会员与政府机构以及会员之间的联系、了解与合作，促进会员在中国现代化建设事业和国际经济合作中发挥积极作用 。
协会作为外商投资企业联系政府机构的桥梁，经常开展与当地政府部门的直接对话，真实反映会员的意见和要求，积极维护投资企业的合法权益及利益。协会同时又是外商投资企业相互联系的纽带，协会定期组织外商投资企业聚会联谊、交流信息，为外商投资企业提供人员培训、产品展销、法律咨询等多方面服务。协会也是传递信息的“窗口”，促进投资的参谋和助手，及时为会员和境外投资者介绍湛江投资环境、各项政策、鼓励产业、推荐投资项目、组织境内外投资者进行考察活动等 。
协会接受全国及省协会指导，常设机构有秘书处、投资事务代理处、投资项目与法律咨询处 。

The Zhanjiang Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment is under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Bureau, which was founded on July 28th, 1994, with the registration of the Zhanjiang Civil Administrative Bureau. It is a branch mechanism of Guangdong Association of Enterprises with foreign Investment.
The aim of the Association is to promote the healthy development of the foreign invested enterprises, basing upon the laws, decrees and regulations of the country. As a bond between the government and foreign invested enterprises, the Association often holds talks with the local government, truly reflects the opinions and demands of the members, helps to solve the problems of foreign invested enterprises. The Association often organizes all kinds activities for foreign enterprises, such as information exchange, staff training, products exhibition and sales and law consultation etc. As a window of information transmission, an advisor and a support were given for promoting investment. The Association also introduces its members to foreign investors and the investment environment in Zhanjiang timely, and various policies, economic achievements and hot spots for investment, enterprises of high potential and organizes business research for foreign investors .
Under the guidance of the state and provincial association, the Association has its standing body, of which there are Secretariat Divisions, Law Consulting Department .
Enterprises with foreign investment, oversea enterprises, business organizations and businessmen from industry and commerce are welcome to join the Association.
